We live in a society based on power, that is, a society in which relations among persons or groups are usually charecterized by power struggles. This type of society and this type of relations do not fully satisfy t he deepest aspirations of human beings. A nostalgia for something else lingers on. At present, a new type of Society is dawning: the convivial society. It is emerging in certain types of groups where members have attained some degree of self-integration. Unity and communion are lived there. Although relations are not perfect, they satisfy the former nostalgia for something else.
